YIN YOGA
All activities we do, we have to make an effort. And that’s good and essential. However, in yin yoga you learn to drop all your efforts and surrender your body and active mind to the this present moment. It stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system which is responsible for relaxation and good digestion. It targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It’s a very meditative practice which allow you to bring (or feel) the space so you can dive deep inward. Because you’re holding poses for longer period of time, yin helps you to stretch and lengthen those rarely-used tissues while also teaching you how to breathe and be with your sensations, feelings, thoughts in a mindfulness way.
Having studied with Sarah and Ty Powers, Konstantinos brings into the practice visualizations, specific breathing patterns and energy ‘pumps’ combining a knowledge of Buddhism, Taoism and Yoga tradition.
